Diana -- Finally got the wool leaves blanket finished.Yea!!! I got it to block pretty well but I obsessed over those "nipples" coming back after the new mother washed it. So I finally decided to kill the acrylic yarn. Just got done. Was a little nervous. I used a wet towel and just kept pressing with my steam iron. It flattened the knit side somewhat but it also flattened the nipples. Plus, it's very drapey now. Love it! Thanks for a great class...as always. Donna Heron

Whew! I knew I'd never lay hands on my 1999 Knitter's, so was glad to see it's available in a book! And 50 projects on Ravelry to drool over for those of us who haven't seen Mary on a day when she's wearing hers. I did NOT need another pattern to think about!!

Mary, Ariana has become a fabulous knitter and it's in large part due to the encouragement and guidance that she received at the The Tangled Web over the years. She's very creative and applies her own ideas to every project. It makes my jaw drop sometimes to see the things she invents!
She learned a lot from the students at the StudioWorks program in Louisville. Many of the students picked up knitting very quickly because they have a talent for math and repetitive activities.
She's back at school now where she is the founder and president of the highly successful and very popular Yale knitting club.

It was such a fun class -- I HIGHLY recommend to others. I'm looking forward to trying out the technique with my 6 year old later this summer as I think he'll have a blast with it. Thanks so much. I'm eager to get over to the store and pick up my yarn and start knitting my "patriotic socks".

Given the date today they won't be finished by the 4th, but the colors will work well for Bastille Day...Labor Day...Guy Fawkes Day... Election Day...Veterans' Day... MLK Jr. Day... Presidents' Day...Opening Day of Baseball Season...Memorial Day...Flag Day...
hmm -- come to think of it, I better knit those socks up with some reinforcing thread!

I'll be sure to share them when they're done!

While I am late to this post (computer on the fritz for a while - it's back now!), it is timely!

How do you all manage to do this?

I recently rec'd a bunch of needles, straights & circs, & decided to re-organize & then give away - i.e. I'll figure out what I have & need & give the extras to a work colleague & what she does not want will go to the Knitter's Review Retreat Swap Tables.

Two things about my organization: (1) I have a bunch of seriously small rubber bands that I will use to hold my straight needles together before they are placed in a vase. That will keep them more organized. (2) I will share what I don't need & help out someone who knits beautifully & often & does not currently have the dough to purchase more needles.

Thanks for a wonderful blog - you all are the best.
